DAYS 1-5 (APRIL 7-11)
Another mild day today, except this one will have a little more sea breeze activity in coastal areas which will turn out somewhat cooler. Two low pressure areas moving along quickly will impact the region Wednesday, with mostly morning rain, and Thursday, with mostly midday and afternoon rain. The end of the week will feature windy and chilly weather with a passing rain shower threat Friday and a breezy and cool but dry Saturday as a broad area of upper level low pressure moves across the region from west to east.
TODAY: Partly sunny. Highs 55-62, cooler some coastal areas. Wind W 5-15 MPH becoming variable up to 10 MPH with coastal sea breezes.
TONIGHT: Clouding over. Rain arriving overnight. Lows 38-45. Wind NE 5-15 MPH.
WEDNESDAY: Cloudy with rain early to mid morning, favoring I-90 south. Mostly cloudy midday on. Highs 40-47. Wind NE 5-15 MPH.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Lows 38-45. Wind SE up to 10 MPH.
THURSDAY: Cloudy with rain likely, mostly from late morning to late afternoon. Highs 46-53. Wind SE 10-20 MPH, higher gusts especially coastal areas and higher elevations.
THURSDAY NIGHT: Breaking clouds. Lows 38-45. Wind W 10-20 MPH, higher gusts.
FRIDAY: Partly sunny to mostly cloudy. Passing rain showers possible. Highs 46-53. Wind W 15-25 MPH, higher gusts.
FRIDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy. Lows 38-45. Wind W 10-20 MPH, higher gusts.
SATURDAY: Partly sunny. Highs 48-55. Wind W 10-20 MPH, higher gusts.
DAYS 6-10 (APRIL 12-16)
Low pressure brings a threat of rain by late April 12 into April 13. Fair, milder April 14 but cold front passes late April 14 or early April 15 with rain shower threat then breezy and cooler weather for the end of the period.
DAYS 11-15 (APRIL 17-21)
Below normal temperatures. Watching for a wave of low pressure with a precipitation threat favoring the first half of the period.
Another basically beautiful day on tap and for the second day in a row I have to close all the windows because they decided yesterday was the perfect day to demolish the house behind us and we’ve become the proud recipients of a fine layer of dust in the backyard. They’ve already started demoing again today right at 7am. Good thing I had to be awake.
Oh no!
Ugh. So sorry Dr
Thanks TK.
TK, thank you.
In Boston, today’s pollen count will be medium-high and highest on Friday. Wednesday will be the lowest day.
For the general region for just today, MA will be medium-high with the exception of some western MA areas which will be high. AN CT and RI will be mostly high today.
Much appreciated. Allergies bother me as I age for some reason. But I have a couple of grands who really suffer. I’ll pass this along
Good morning and thank you TK.
Nam has come around to the other models so we have consensus. RAIN tomorrow, that fantasy NAM snow storm is long gone. Well, it was nice to look at. 🙂
Based on TK’s outlook above, last opportunity of the season 4/17-18. I think Mark mentioned this in yesterday’s post.
Thanks TK !
Thank you!
JPD. I’m hearing they stock the Mumford river in Sutton if you venture out this far. I know you are probably not fishing now; but if I don’t mention it, it will float right out of my head.
Nah, not going to try until my wife feels better. Just don’t want to leave her just in case.
The fish aren’t going anywhere, I think. Perhaps more people are fishing than ever just for a meal? I don’t know.
Oh, and thanks for mentioning it.
I sure understand. When and if you decide to head this way, I can ask if there have been a lot of people.
I tend to stay nearby since I only have a limited amount of time to fish so I don’t want to spend a big chunk of it traveling. I like to consider myself
an “urban” fisherman. I really get a kick out of catching nice fish near or even within the city limits. 🙂 Do you know that there are nice
large mouth bass right in the lagoon by the Esplanade?
Totally forgot to post this yesterday! 🙂
April 6-7, 1982
Iirc the last of the snow fell just after midnight on 4/7 as the vast majority of the powdery event was during the daytime on 4/6.
16F? high at Logan
April 7th was an exceptionally frigid day. I think that air mass in January would have been below zero at Logan all day.
They recorded over 13 inches from that storm and I had 16 in Woburn.
13 inch storm… Haven’t seen one of those in a long while. lol
Oh yeah. I had to walk 1 mile from Forrest Hills Station to my house with that cold wind and heavy snow pelting me in the face as I trudged home. Can’t forget that!
Thanks TK. An especially fine morning.
I wonder if there could be a sneaky, but very, very gusty wind event in eastern Mass sometime Wednesday evening, 6 to 10pm timeframe, maybe …..
Reasons:
Rapidly intensifying low in the Gulf of Maine + cold air advection
Low too far south and not enough gradient.
Thursday night and Friday a different story though.
Thanks TK !
Lol ….. today’s Tuesday, not Monday. 🙂 🙂
Oh and thanks for mentioning it.
Supermoon Day! (Pink Moon)
Aka Flower Moon?
Yes
Eric fisher talking about warmth potential next week

The GFS forecast for the same day is about 20-25 degrees colder. A bit of model disagreement 7 days out. 😉
From Eric Fisher
Can see there’s a lot of bopping around with the overall pattern & timing early next week. Either way, we get wet. Just a question of what temp it’ll be and whether we get thunderstorms
Walked the shore yesterday and today. Today was noticeably cooler given the wind. But now clouding over so might not see that special moon tonight.
Also people were behaving well when it comes to social distancing. But I did wonder if the wind plays any role in increasing or decreasing the spread of the virus or maybe no effect at all.
Thanks, TK!
Two great days!
This is also the Paschal Full Moon, the reason Easter is this Sunday.
Hope everyone and your families are well!
I hope you are well also
Yes…first Sunday after first full moon after spring equinox…hmmm, that’s a lot of thinking for me this late
If what the GFS is showing actually happened, that would be one heck of a storm Friday/Friday night of next week lol. Watch it go poof
Oh you mean the 2-3 feet of snow? 😉 Lock it in! 😛
